L.O.L. Surprise! Biggie Pets review

L.O.L. Surprise! are constantly reinventing themselves and adding exciting new products to the range - we've already reviewed L.O.L. Surprise! Confetti Pop, L.O.L. Surprise! Pearl Surprise and L.O.L. Surprise! Pets  amongst others - so we were very excited to discover the latest product : L.O.L. Surprise! Biggie Pets.

L.O.L. Surprise! Biggie Pets have tons of surprises inside - fifteen or more ! - and include wear and share accessories for you to share with your new pet. The pet can be used as a backpack and doubles up as a piggy bank. Unwrap the contents to find your surprise – will it be 2 babies or 3? Or are they food babies? And that’s not all - use the Eye Spy Series spy glasses to find codes and clues and unlock even more surprises! Cue squeals of delight !

With most L.O.L. Surprise! toys, you have no idea what to expect when you start unwrapping. However, with the Biggie Pets, the picture on the box shows you which animal you will find inside : will you choose Dollmation the dog, MC Hammy the hamster or (the one we got) Hop Hop the bunny? It was time to start discovering the first surprises, namely the wear and share accessories : glasses, a collar and a bracelet. There is also a baby reveal card, which can be unscrambled with the glasses.

On to the star of the show : the gorgeous Hop Hop, with her cute bunny ears and pastel coloured hair. She's bigger than I expected, standing about 30cm tall. The strap attaches to her back so that you can use her as a backpack. She also has a slot on the top of her head so that she can be used as a money box.

Hiding inside are the rest of the surprises, in blind bags.

Or special little containers, either in the form of cute kitty baskets.

Or boxes that say "free puppies" on the side.

The blind bags revealed all sorts of cute accessories, including a funny bone charm, a wish bone charm, glasses, scoops, a collar and a heart charm with a fortune teller spinwheel. The final surprises were lurking in the little pots, which are filled with Moon Sand and need to be dug out with the little scoops to see how many and which babies are hiding inside. You'll get a combination of pet babies, pet baby charms and food baby charms - the enclosed collector's guide will show you how rare they are and which family they belong to. I don't want to say too much about this part because it's the biggest remaining surprise, but basically you will get the two baby pets that you didn't choose as the Biggie Pet (in other words, as we had the bunny, the baby pets were the hamster and dog).

Biggie Pets are a lovely addition to the L.O.L. range and we love the fact that they combine an element of choice (for the main Biggie Pet) along with the usual surprise element of the blind bags. Whichever one you choose, you're in for a biggie surprise ! The fact that you can reuse the giant carry case as storage or a play area for your sand is also a great idea.

RRP :  £36.99
