Fudge Kitchen Almond Bark review

Fudge Kitchen recently sent us through a pack of their Almond Bark to review. I've already tried several products from their other ranges - you may remember my reviews for their Puddings Selection and their Fudge In My Kitchen kit which we used to makde Vanilla Rainbow Fudge, Double Chocolate Explosion and Rocky Road Fudge.

The Almond Bark is new for 2016 and it is part of their  Delectables range of brittles and caramels, launched last year as a first foray into sugar confectionery after 33 years hand making premium fudge, even using an original 1830s American whipping cream recipe for some of it. Just like their fudge, the Almond Bark is hand made in small batches by an artisan staff.

Fudge Kitchen describe their Almond Bark as a gourmand’s Daim bar, but I think that's selling it short. You get layers of flaked almonds adding some crunch but the dominating flavour is the rich burnt sugar and butteriness of the sea salted caramel, which is crunchy then chewy as it melts in your mouth. As you suck or chew, the flavour of the smooth milk chocolate comes through to finish your moment of pure indulgence in style.

It's utterly delicious, totally moreish and definitely a grown-up treat that is far too good to waste on the kids ! It is handmade in the UK using all natural ingredients and is vegetarian friendly and gluten free. It's pricey but for a special treat or gift, it's worth it
