Poppy Cat Launches Campaign for Outdoor Adventures with Woodland Trust

For the next month, pre-schoolers with a taste for outdoor fun will be in their element if they head over to the VisitWoods.org.uk website. As well as giving information on more than 11,000 UK woods that are open to the public, the site is currently offering downloadable Poppy Cat-themed activities focusing on a Mystery Trail adventure (which ties in with the lovely book and other goodies that they sent us). The free printable materials are designed to encourage little Poppy Cat fans aged 2-6 (and their parents) to get out and have fun on a trip in the woods.

Poppy Cat always loves adventures and often heads off into the woods with her friends, so to help really bring the campaign to life, every day at 7.15pm for the next couple of weeks, Nick Jr will be airing nature-themed episodes of the show. Sounds perfect for unwinding after a busy day running around discovering your local woodlands !

You may have seen my blogposts about our two family adventures last week - the first started off as an urban adventure but ended up in woodlands, and the second involved discovering pond wildlife. We're already planning another big walk to the beach for next week but our local park also has a wooded area at the back end, so we'll definitely be heading out with our Poppy Cat activity sheets next week. I love the idea of hugging trees like Egbert and finding something sticky, soft, wriggly, crumbly and with six legs !

If your children have outgrown Poppy Cat, you should head over to the Woodland Trust's Nature Detectives website, which targets older children.

If you do head off for a woodland adventure, don't forget your camera - you can upload your photos to the Visit Woods website and win some fab prizes.

Disclosure : We received some Poppy Cat goodies and the Mystery Trail activity pack in order to write an honest review.
