Crown Your Puds - Clotted Cream or Custard ?

As I mentioned last week when I posted my giveaway to win a hamper of Rodda's goodies (make sure you've entered - you've still got time !), we were delighted to receive our own hamper here at The Madhouse too. Rodda's have always invited us to Crown Our Puds with their deliciously indulgent cream but now they have a new alternative - custard. Choices choices !

Rodda's Clotted Cream is still as utterly rich and smooth as ever - it went absolutely perfectly with this apple pie. It's a whopping 560 calories per 100g though so it's definitely not a diet-friendly option !

The new Rodda's Custard is another thick, creamy, indulgent option - just look how unctuous it is ! - but it "only" contains 190 calories per 100g so it's a lighter option.

Although it has such a lovely vanilla flavour that you'll probably end up coming back for seconds and even thirds ! It can be eaten hot or cold - if heating it, you can use the hob or a microwave - but we just spooned it straight out of the tub on to hot apple pie and it was perfect.
