Hands up if one of your New Year's resolutions was trying to be more organised ! Well, if you're still wondering where to start, checking on the calendar and/or in the family planner what's coming up in the coming days just before bed is always a good idea. I write everything on mine, from birthdays and appointments to the kids' PE lessons (who has swimming? who needs extra trainers?), bloggy deadlines and even reminders to do things like defrost the freezer or clean the oven so as soon as I jump out of bed, I know what needs to be done !
The Royal British Legion have just sent me through their exclusively designed calendar which features iconic British scenes and landmarks, such as Tower Bridge, a Red Arrows display and Edinburgh Castle. The calendar does more than just help you and your family keep track of things however and all proceeds raised from its sale go directly to The Royal British Legion and their important work in providing care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces, past and present, and their families.
We love the poppy design which reminds us of our weekend in London when we went to see the amazing Poppies At The Tower. It was so striking and so poignant to think that each flower represented a life lost in combat.
Also in the Legion’s range, and helping raise funds for the charity, is a Family Organiser. With specific poignant words from John McCrae’s poem ‘In Flanders Fields’ featured each month, the organiser includes columns for up to five family members’ schedules and an image of the hand written poem on the inside cover. There is also a weekly planner pad available with 80 tear off sheets for weekly notes and to-do lists.
To buy one of these fantastic calendars, organisers or planners simply visit www.poppyshop.org.uk, where prices start at just £5.99, and you’ll also find a whole host of other exciting poppy products and gift ideas.
Disclosure : I received a calendar in order to write an honest review.
