What's Cooking at The Madhouse? menu plan 2018 week #20

Back to a normal work/school week, so I'll need some quick and simple options for my busy days.

Monday

lunch - chicken & mushroom pie using up the leftovers from the Sunday roast, with garlic mash, peas & carrots

dinner - New Orleans-style red beans & rice with smoked sausage & peppers

Tuesday

lunch - school canteen

dinner - Fish finger and baked bean pie, topped with mash

Wednesday

lunch - chicken parmesan with spaghetti

dinner - meat loaf with mixed veg & rice

Thursday

lunch - school canteen

dinner - what the French call an "assiette anglaise" or English plate - basically a selection of cold cuts, which I will serve with baby potatoes, topped with butter, and cherry tomatoes

Friday

lunch - school canteen

dinner - chicken thighs with green beans & roasted tomatoes, plus some ebly to keep Pierre happy

Saturday

lunch - fast food - I think it's Sophie's choice this week

dinner - prawn, avocado & mango salad

Sunday

lunch - roast chicken seems to be our go-to Sunday lunch

dinner - using up the leftovers or sandwiches

  1. Ahh! I had forgotten all about Fish finger and baked bean pie! I used to make it for my girls. I think I will have to add it to my meal plan soon. I love the sound of the prawn, avocado & mango salad. I could just eat that now x

  2. I find it so interesting to read about what other countries eat especially when it is a dish we don't really have a word for, ie the English plate. We think of continental breakfast and the like but don't realise what is on the other side, so to speak. :)
