A few weeks ago, Lionsgate sent us through a lovely pack to celebrate the release of their new film, A Mouse's Tale. Along with a copy of the DVD, we received two jellies and some funky mouse moulds.
Pierre wanted to make one straight away so we headed to the kitchen.
He was under strict instructions not to chop his fingers off - I love the look of serious concentration on his face !
After a few hours in the fridge, it was the moment of truth. Would they fall apart when we pulled the moulds off?
No ... they were perfect !
Although Pierre giggled at the lack of a tail then squealed "oops, I just poked my finger up his bum" ! This led to at least ten minutes of non-stop giggling - oh, to be a 6 year old again !
After the chewing, it was time for the viewing, so we settled on the settee and I popped the DVD into the machine. I instantly recognised some of the voices but couldn't place them so I checked the box - it features the vocal talents of Carey Elwes (The Princess Bride), Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) and Tom Arnold.
Here's the synopsis : In order to save their kingdom from evil rodents, Samantha and Sebastian are sent on a quest by the King of Rodencia and the wise Wizard Dalliwog to obtain a legendary magic crystal that has the power to defeat the rodents. With the help of two trustworthy knights, they venture deep into the forest and enter a forbidden world of giants in order to accomplish their mission and restore order to the kingdom.
It's a fun family film with cute mousey heroes, made even more enjoyable by the fact that we had mouse jellies to tuck into ! I was surprised to see that it's a PG - it has a few slightly scary sequences but nothing that bothered 6-year-old Pierre in the slightest.
