The hunt is on for the UK’s Savviest Family. Nectar, the UK’s most popular loyalty programme, is scouring the country for families to take part in the ultimate savvy test for the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes including cash and flights. Over a period of two months, up to eight families will go head-to-head in a competition to see which family can be the savviest with their saving and spending.
Does your family regularly visit the library so you can all read the latest books and play the newest games for free? Perhaps you’re an expert at seeking out the best deals and promotions for your weekly shop, or sell unwanted clothes or furniture. If this sounds like the sort of smart budgeting skills your family uses then Nectar wants to hear from you.
All the selected families have to do is chronicle their savvy experiences and money-saving tips on a short blog, featured on nectar.com. First-time bloggers need not worry as Nectar will provide every selected family with a Savvy Pack. This starter pack will include a digital camera, a piggy bank, some tips from money saving expert Jasmine Birtles and a simple guide on how to blog as well as a boost to their Nectar point balance.
The families chosen to blog will be in the running to win £1000 cash, four easyJet return flights to any destination (including taxes), a Sainsbury’s gift card worth £600, up to £500 worth of free petrol from BP to be used within three months and 50,000 Nectar points. To enter, families just need to click onto nectar.com/savvy2011 and answer the questions provided. Final entry date is 30th May 2011.
Jasmine Birtles, one of the Nectar Savvy Family competition judges and founder of Moneymagpie.com comments; “Nectar’s hunt to find the UK’s savviest people is continuing this year but this time we want to find the UK’s savviest family. Mums, Dads and kids alike - we want to know what all of you do to help make your family’s budget work harder. If you know all the tricks when it comes to keeping a close eye on your family’s purse-strings, all you need to do is enter at nectar.com/savvy2011 and tell us how savvy your family is.”
“Up to eight chosen families will be invited to provide blogs to be in the running to win the ultimate Nectar prize and crowned the very first UK’s Savviest Family.”
At the end of the competition a judging panel of savvy experts, including Jasmine Birtles, will judge the blog entries to decide which family was the savviest.

nice comp, lovely prize, but its coming up with something unique or different to catch the judges eye that will be a problem ( for me at least)I think. we could rant on about 3 day chickens, late shopping for bargains and entering comps to win pressies, but so will everybody else.
