Science Quiz4You review

During the holidays, Science4you sent through some goodies for the Madhouse kids to review. Playing through learning is always the best way to keep kids and parents happy and have the kids picking up new skills without even realising it, and these products certainly fit the bill. First up was this Quiz4you game.

It's a card-based game so you get a pack of cards inside a bigger cardboard box. My first thought was that the outer box was superfluous - excess packaging is one of my bugbears !

My second thought was that the inner box was totally trashed so the outer packaging didn't do its job anyway ! It only took a quick bit of sellotape to stick it back together but with hindsight, maybe a plastic storage box for the cards would have been better.

Packaging aside, it's actually a great little game though. The cards feature more than 200 questions based on level 1 science. I knew most of the answers but had to think for a few of them ! The Madhouse kids picked up lots of interesting facts though and they had fun along the way.

The instruction sheet tells you to look out for the special symbols on the cards - to win, you need to collect the 5 atoms of the molecule (the Science4you logo) by getting questions right.

Most of the time, they just end up doing a straight question and answer session though, calling out questions while I'm cooking dinner or yelling "hey Mum, did you know ... ?"

I purposely leave them lying around too and have noticed that they have a tendency to pick them up and read through a few when they have an idle moment - it beats playing flappy bird or candy crush !

I've been to look and you can also buy Quiz4you games focusing on Science level 2, Languages (Portuguese, Spanish or French) and the human body. They're great boredom busters to keep in the car for long journeys.
