Schweppes give their bottles a makeover for the Royal Wedding !

I was recently approached about checking out the new special limited edition Schweppes bottles that have been launched to tie in with the Royal Wedding. I was expecting Union Jacks a-plenty and maybe a picture of the royal couple but no, they are actually very tasteful and low key, as you can see in the pictures, with an elegant silver ribbon snaking around the bottle.
It's not just a cynical marketing ploy either as the company really does have ties with the royal family. Schweppes has been a part of British history for over 200 years and has been supplying drinks to the Royal Household since it first received its Royal Warrant from King William IV in 1863, which it holds to this day. Impressive stuff !

The bespoke range created specially for the Royal Wedding includes all the classic mixers that we know and love, from the original Indian Tonic Water through to Canada Dry, Lemonade and Bitter Lemon and is available in 1 litre bottles. They are the perfect accompaniment for Royal Wedding themed parties and picnics or for celebrating with friends over the Bank Holiday weekend.

To celebrate the big day Schweppes has also created a huge wedding card for the nation to sign on Facebook. In the run up to the big day, residents of Great Britain have the chance to offer the royal couple their congratulations, by adding their name to the Great Royal Wedding Card. Join Schweppes in wishing the couple luck and happiness by having your name handwritten in one of the country's biggest cards by liking the Facebook page. You can follow its progress by visiting www.facebook.com/weddingcard

Whatever your plans for the long weekend, a classic British drink is in order to toast the proceedings (or just to chill out !) and what better way to bring a touch of regality to the proceedings than with the Royal Wedding Collection, devised by Schweppes. Check out the recipe ideas below.
