I've featured a lot of Schwartz products on my blog over the last couple of years, but even so, I still got very excited at the latest delivery they kindly sent me. It contained a beautiful folder for keeping my recipes in and a funky 5-in-1 unitool (slotted spoon, turner, cutting edge, solid spoon, spatula) which is so incredibly useful, I don't know how I ever survived without one !
But the most exciting part was their new Recipe Inspirations kits. Schwartz explain : "Schwartz’s convenient Recipe Inspirations Kit range enables consumers to create appetising dishes by popping in the perfect selection of pre-measured, high quality herbs and spices, expertly sourced from all over the world. This takes the hassle out of measuring each portion separately, while ensuring the best flavours go in! The Kits also include step-by-step instructions to guide everyone through the cooking process, which can be cut
out to make fantastic collectable recipe cards."
The range includes Tray Baked Piri-Piri (which includes Ground Coriander, Coriander leaf, Garlic Granules, Paprika, Crushed Chillies and Lemon Pepper)
Beef & Beer Stew with Herb Dumplings (with Garlic Granules, Paprika, Marjoram, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme) - aaggghh I'll be singing Scarborough Fair again all day !
Creamy Pan-Fried Pork with Apple & Sage (containing Paprika, Garlic Granules, Sage, Rosemary, Thyme and Oregano)
and Rosemary Roasted Chicken & Potatoes (with Rosemary, Garlic Granules, Lemon Pepper, Oregano, Paprika and Thyme).
The recipes all sound delicious and family-friendly and I love the fact that the little single-serve bubbles keep the herbs and spices ultra-fresh, unlike some of the more unusual spices that end up hanging around for ages in your cupboard and going stale if you buy a big jar because you never use them. I'll be looking forward to trying all of them out and telling you how I get on. First up is the Pan-Fried Pork with Apple & Sage which we tried yesterday, so watch this space for our review of that, coming right up.

ReplyDeleteA good idea I think if you like to cook but do not have a big enough kitchen to store lots of herbs either :-) x
