New Year Resolutions Review week #15: On holiday, yay !

And breeeeeathe ! This week, we've been on holiday and it's been great - I feel like we haven't stopped but there's been plenty of time for fun stuff too and that has been in short supply lately.

1. Get Fit(bitting) !

We've had fabulous weather for most of the week which always equates with long walks and geocaching adventures, so this has been reflected in my step count : I finished four days at well over my 10k steps target (2 x 12,000, 1 x 14,000 and the highest day, 18,800 steps). The other days were lower because we had indoor days, baking and having a dejunk.

2. Get cooking bookmarked recipes !
As always, the holidays are my time for working through bookmarked recipes and having a big #KitchenClearout, so this week, I've made chicken mafe and hibiscus & almond cakes from my Cameroonian Kitchen Trotter box, a totally lush homity pie with cheese, leeks, bacon and potatoes and I finally blogged about Chicken Frito Pie, made for a #readcookeat recipe from Gone Girl.

3. Get geocaching !
I'd warned the kids, I was determined to get out geocaching during the holidays and we did, several times ! In three trips, only one resulted in any finds but we had lots of fun nevertheless. We found a fantastic cache that is one of our all-time favourites - a big plastic box the size of an old-fashioned sweet shop jar, filled with the plastic containers inside Kinder Eggs. One of them contained the log book, so you had to open them all to find it, and most of the others contained little treasures to swap. Luckily it was a gorgeous day because we sat on the floor and spent 20 minutes going through and swapping over treasures !

4. Get comping !
No wins this week but I'm still on track for my target of one win a month.

(January : 4 wins - £20 shopping voucher, Mr Lee's noodles, Ambrosia trifle glasses, set of 5 books; February : 1 win - tea & personalised mug (prize for Galina); March - a Bear Grylls adventure book; April - a colouring bundle)

5. Get reading !
I finished Child Taken, but I have to hold off with my review because I'm taking part in a blog tour for that one. I'm now reading Patricia Scanlan's Orange Blossom Days, which is set in Spain and is making me hanker after long, hot, lazy summer days.

6. Get FLYing !
I always seem to forget to do the Flylady daily missions and this week I realised why - I haven't been receiving the emails ! That's back on track now so I'll make a concerted effort to do at least some of them next week ! This week, our ongoing project has been dejunking the playroom (which was Pierre's bedroom before he asked to share with Juliette and everything got dumped in there temporarily to make space for his bed).

8. Get bloggy housekeeping !
Things are back on a pretty even keel in terms of stats. My next mission is to clear (or delete) some of my draft posts. I have 567 of them, but in my defence, many of them are bookmarked recipes that have caught my eye online. I'm sure there are some posts that never got written and can be deleted (or resurrected) though.

9. Get French !
Still no news so it's out of my hands at the moment.

What about you? Have you set yourself any targets, challenges or new year's resolutions this year?
