When I was contacted by the lovely people at Stérimar Baby to see if I'd like to work with them as a Mummy Ambassador, I didn't have to think twice. I've already blogged about their products, both the Stérimar Baby range here and their normal Stérimar nasal hygiene spray here.
As you can see, if you read those two posts, I first blogged about my experiences with Stérimar over two years ago and I'd been using saline nasal sprays long before that because they are the first thing French doctors prescribe when your little one has got the winter sniffles. I initially protested that squirting seawater up your baby's nose seemed a bit sadistic but my French paedeatrician (who's totally used to me !) sniggered at me and said "Ah you English, what are you like ?! You think suppositories are perverted and now you're worried about a bit of salt water" ! Before I knew what was happening, he'd expertly squirted saline spray up baby Sophie's nostrils and laughed as I watched in amazement as she sat there giggling ! Having experimented myself at home, I can vouch for the fact that it's not actually the unpleasant experience that I was expecting because it's a fine mist like spray that you can hardly even feel. It was a total godsend for me whan I was pregnant and couldn't use my usual antihistamines during hayfever season.
I'll be sharing my thoughts and advice here on my blog as well as elsewhere online (I'm off to have a nose about on twitter in a moment and see who's been talking about it !) so if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post them and I'll do my very best to answer. (And if I don't know the answers, I know that the people at Sterimar will !). Let me know what you think of it if you've already tried it.
Just in case you have no idea what Sterimar is or what it can be used for, here's some information about the whole range of products available :

ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of it before receiving it for review, but I'm sure my French in-laws would have! I'm still finding it a struggle to keep my almost 2 year old still enough and he hates me spraying it in his nose but I do see the improvement so hope he gets used to it! I've used it in front of him and shown that it's fun but he's not buying it. Any tips for using on reluctant toddlers?
ReplyDeleteYes - squirt it in the air so it rains. It's all natural seawater so you don't have to worry about it getting on their skin or clothes. Then, when they're giggling, suggest making it rain up their nose. We then sing "raindrops keep squirting in my nose" (instead of raindrops keep falling on my head) which works here !! Good luck !!
ReplyDeleteAhh that sounds brilliant! Will try it out! Thanks Cheryl :D
