Madhouse Daddy Mike is the main coffee-drinker in our house so he was placed straight on the testing hot-seat when we received a sample of Kenco's brand new product to try out. It is called Millicano and is the brand’s first wholebean instant coffee. We usually make freshly brewed ground coffee here in The Madhouse but as our coffee machine had just gone wrong, this was the perfect time to try out some instant coffee.
The packaging is great. The tin looks very smart and keeps the coffee lovely and fresh, but I also love the eco-friendly (not to mention penny-saving) refill bags that you can buy instead of clogging up the landfills with empty tins.
Madhouse Daddy Mike admitted that he came to the Millicano not really expecting to like it much, compared to his usual ground coffee, but he was pleasantly surprised. It has a rich deep taste comparable to the coffee he usually makes with ground coffee pods. Kenco explain that it is made from finely-milled, high quality Arabica beans and offers "the convenience of instant with the quality and taste reminiscent of roast and ground coffee". That actually corresponds very well with Madhouse Daddy Mike's comments.
I also love the fact that it's so quick and easy to prepare in the morning so it's all hands on deck to help me get the kids ready for school and the childminder's instead of fiddling about with a coffee machine !
I also have the perfect recipe coming up for delicious ‘Cake Pop’ to accompany your mug of Millicano - enjoy !

ReplyDeleteTastes like other Kencos to me. I'm very impressed however with Nescafe Azera - that does have a tast of fresh coffee。 Even smells like fresh coffee.
