Everybody's Activity Book : Cut, Stick, Colour ! review

This activity book wasn't actually sent for review, it was part of the fabulous prize pack from Red Ted Art and Fly Thomas Cook's summer crafts competition that we won here. 10-year-old Sophie often finds that kids' activity books and colouring books are too babyish for her now but she absolutely loved the different challenges in this book

It actually came in really handy on a day when Sophie's teacher was on strike and I had to go to work. She came along with me and stayed in the staffroom, keeping herself busy with her homework and, once she'd finished, this activity book. Every time I popped back along the corridor to see her, she proudly showed me all the different pages she'd filled in. I love the way it led her to think about colours, patterns and textures when colouring in the pictures, rather than just using uniform blocks of colour as she usually would.

Even the simplest activities made her think, such as using the triangular and round stickers to fill the plate with carrots and peas, then having to complete the pattern herself when she ran out of stickers.

The big pages and bright colours are appealing to kids of all ages but it's slightly more grown-up than the usual colouring and activity books so it's perfect for artistic tweens too.

It's quite pricey but you do get 128 big pages and a whole lot of fun tha will keep kids entertained for hours.
