I told you a little while ago (here) about us being lucky enough to be picked as members of the Ravensburger Puzzle Club. The latest puzzle that we received to review was the lovely festive 200 XXL piece puzzle called The Christmas Fair.
Sophie immediately grabbed it and started looking at all the festive details in the vintage-style Christmas scene - Santa's grotto and sleigh, snowmen, Christmas trees, carousel, helter skelter, balloons ... It's a really busy scene with lots going on which always make it easier to complete for the kids.
The pieces are lovely and chunky, made with thick cardboard, so are very resistant and hold together really well. There are absolutely no rough edges that snag and the pieces have lots of interesting shapes. It's aimed at kids aged 6+ and the large pieces are perfectly suited to little fingers.
Sophie asked me to help her out, more to keep her company than because she actually needed help, and within half an hour, we'd completed it and put it away in time for tea (although with the Puzzle Store that I told you about here, this is not a problem at all as you can stop whenever you need to and keep your work in progress safe).
As we packed the puzzle away fairly quickly so that the table was free to eat on, I know there are loads of details that we didn't take the time to look at closely. This means that every time we get it out, we'll be able to spot things that we've never noticed before so the kids can be enchanted all over again. I can actually see this becoming a traditional part of our Christmas Eve family time, as we wait for bedtime to come round so that it's time to hang up the stockings and put out the carrot and mince pie for Santa and his reindeer.
