Despite the name WeightWatchers instantly evoking diet food, we've tried several varieties of WeightWatchers biscuits already - their chocolate biscuits here and their fruit crumble biscuits here - so as soon as the girls saw these biscuits in my reviews drawer, they excitedly asked if they could try them out.
As the name suggests, you get a crisp wafer filled with gooey, sticky caramel and covered in chocolate. The wafer is slightly dry and the layer of chocolate is very thin but you still get a delicious, satisfying sweet treat that will quash any suger or chocolate cravings for just 78 calories. Sounds good to me - although they are very moreish so hide the rest of the packet or you'll end up eating them all !
Each bar contains 7.2g of sugar and 3.7g of fat (of which saturates 2.3g) but will only set you back 2 ProPoints, if you're following the WeightWatchers programme. With Christmas just around the corner and the endless parade of boxes of chocolates, mince pies and Christmas pudding, these would make a brilliant low-calorie but nevertheless indulgent alternative to keep the number of calories that you consume down. As they are individually wrapped, they are also great for lunchboxes or to keep in your handbag to prevent reaching for a bag of crisps or higher-calorie chocolate treat when you get the mid-morning munchies.
star rating : 4.5/5
RRP : £1.59 for 5 wafers
