When I was first offered some biscuits from the WeightWatchers range to try out, I wasn't overly convinced that they'd be all that nice - in my experience, low calorie and indulgent are two words that rarely go together ! - but they proved me wrong with their Fruit Crumble Biscuits (which I reviewed here) so I was keen to give their Chocolate Biscuits a try too.
WeightWatchers explain : "These mouth-watering, crunchy chocolate biscuits are smothered in a thick helping of real Belgian milk chocolate - ideal for satisfying even the biggest chocolate cravings ! Each biscuit is individually wrapped, offering a perfect portion-controlled chocolate fix to eat on the go, at your desk as an afternoon pick me up or with friends."
Despite being made with real Belgian chocolate, each biscuit contains only 89 calories and has a ProPoints value of 2. They're lovely and crunchy with just the right amount of chocolate to make them seem "naughty". I found that the chocolate had a slightly strange texture in my mouth, as if it had melted and reset, but this could well be the case as I tried them during the mini-heatwave a couple of weeks ago.
I gave them to the girls to try, without telling them they were made by WeightWatchers, and they declared them delicious and asked if they could have another one, so that proves that they taste like "normal" chocolate biscuits and not waistline-friendly ones !

ReplyDeleteI agree with you, when you hear the words low calorie and chocolate in the same sentence you think "yeah right!" but I have to admit a few years ago I tried Boots own low fat chocolate bars and they were lovely, so I will definitely try these!
