When we were offered the opportunity to review Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom: The Tooth Fairy on DVD, it seemed like the perfect timing - both 10-year-old Sophie and 6-year-old Juliette are losing teeth like nobody's business at the moment ! That's just one of the episodes on this third Ben and Holly volume though.
Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom is a firm favourite on Nick Jr and Channel 5’s Milkshake but here at The Madhouse, we'd never watched it so all three of my mini-reviewers were very chuffed to discover a new series and sat, transfixed, watching the whole thing all the way through.
They loved the adventures of Princess Holly, a young fairy who is still learning how to do magic properly, and her best friend Ben Elf, who, as an elf, doesn't do magic but is very good at making things. Along with their friends, Ben and Holly have lots of fun and exciting adventures playing together in the Little Kingdom. All together now - ahhh !
The DVD contains ten episodes, each of which lasts ten minutes : The Elf Factory – Ben’s Birthday Card – Books – Betty Caterpillar – Queen Holly – The Woodpecker – The Elf Band – The Ant Hill – Redbeard the Elf Pirate – The Tooth Fairy.
The series is produced by Entertainment One, who also bring us Peppa Pig, and has won a BAFTA, so it's hardly surprising that it was such a hit here at The Madhouse. It's full of fun and adventures but isn't overly hectic or noisy so won't send the kids hyper ! Even as a parent, I enjoyed the gentle humour and sat on the settee to watch along with the kids !
Look out for a giveaway coming up in a moment where you will be able to win your very own copy.
