New Zealand Honey Co Pre-Biotic Beech Forest Honeydew review

Up until last year, I was convinced I didn't like honey. Then we received a huge selection of different jars to try out and I realised that there are so many different honeys that you're bound to find one to suit your tastes. It's also a really versatile ingredient, that can be used in cakes and biscuits, glazes, in place of sugar in yoghurts or porridge, or drizzled over toast. Sophie's friend's mum actually uses it as a kind of antiseptic and puts it on plasters to help cuts and grazes heal more quickly !

I discovered that I like runny honey best, but it is incredibly messy when you need to measure out a spoonful or drizzle it on bread while missing the table and floor ! Squeezy bottles are definitely the way to go for ease of use !

When the opportunity came up to sample a (squeezy !) bottle of New Zealand Honey Co's products, I was keen to give it a go. They have a range of health boosting honeys, with Thyme (which helps maintain a strong immune system) and Beech Forest Honeydew (which helps aid your digestive system) honeys. We received the latter.

It has quite a mild, smooth taste which went down well with the kids. They've been eating it on porridge and it is absolutely gorgeous drizzled over warm bread fresh out of the breadmaker. But it doesn't just taste good and serve as a healthier, more natural alternative to refined sugars. New Zealand Honey Co’s range has a unique pre-biotic and antioxidant rating which tells you just how much goodness you’re getting from each spoonful.

Good for the tatsebuds and good for your health - can't say fairer than that !
