Thomas & Friends' new DVD, called Thomas In Charge, will be released later this month on 23rd January, and we were sent a preview disc for review.
The official blurb says : "Clickity-Clack, Thomas is back in exciting, engine-packed adventures! Thomas and his friends are preparing for the Railway Inspector’s visit to Knapford Station. But when the coal trucks crash, covering Gordon in soot, can Thomas take charge and help straighten out the mess? Find out as Thomas charges full steam ahead into fun!"
The four new adventures on the DVD feature Thomas taking Charge, Henry trying to do a good deed, Emily collecting flowers and Gordon looking after Whiff’s Waste Dump. As you can see, Pierre lay on the bed totally transfixed and watched all the episodes back-to-back ! I love the way each new DVD introduces us to new characetrs or gives us a better understanding of characters that have always been there in the background without really being developed before.
Pierre also really enjoyed the exclusive "Watch with Mr Perkins" extras which were fun to watch and a great way to learn about different musical instruments. The bonus content also offers a jigsaw and a feature about a real-life train guard, which also went down well.
Total running time is just under an hour (54 minutes) and I was amazed to see a 2-year-old sit still for that long !
