Madhouse Diaries : The Enchanted Village

The town square in Dunkirk has been filled with Christmas trees and wooden chalets and turned into a magical enchanted village. We went to investigate  ...

Ever get the feeling you're being watched?

Chilling with the teds !

On to the railway station ...

The Madhouse Mini-testers were very intrigued !

This scene reminded me of Goldilocks and the Three Bears for some reason.

Some of the displays had wheels to turn to make extra things move.

At the forge - the elephant's trunk was a bit too close to the fire for comfort !

Who's in here then?

A puppet show !

Ooh look - another wooden thing to add to my Wood you believe it? post about wooden Christmas decorations !

On to some rather clever but totally accidental photos of us being reflected in the windows looking at the displays !

The cool (big) cats playing jazz !

If only the kids were this well-behaved in my classroom !

The carpenter's shop.

But that's not all - Dunkirk have done us proud this year !

On to the big LED-studded little drummer boy.

Can you guess what this mysterious transparent plastic igloo is?

Look closely - it's Santa's grotto !

Two excited faces waiting in the queue !

Is it me or did Santa look very dishevelled? He didn't even have a hat ! The kids didn't mind though, especially as they got a sweet and a promise to see them soon.

The kids loved the giant tinsel bear.

And had a well deserved rest on Santa's sleigh.

My cute little carollers !

And to finish off our visit, an LED covered Santa which must look spectacular when it gets dark. We'll have to come back and have another look at the weekend ... when Santa abseils down the clock tower (I kid you not !). Coming soon to a blogpost near you ... !
