A Brazilian Kitchen Trotter box this month

Brazil may have just come crashing out of the World Cup with a rather humiliating 7-1 defeat against Germany, but at least they can still be proud of their cuisine ! I've been getting into the World Cup spirit and trying out a few traditional Brazilian dishes recently - Feijoada, Vatapa, Spicy Steak Sandwich - so I was delighted when a brightly-coloured Kitchen Trotter box arrived this morning, packed with ingredients and recipes to discover even more of the country's gastronomical delights.

What would be hiding inside ?

Once unpacked, I discovered a little bottle of Caipirinha syrup, Cheese Bread mix, Churrasco spices, Mango/Maracuja jam, Manioc (Cassava) Tapioca, Quindim mix, Paçoquinha (peanut treats) and coloured ribbons that are traditionally tied around the wrist with three knots. You make three wishes and when the bracelet disintegrates, your wishes will come true.

So what's on the menu this month?

Coconut Quindim and Chocolate Brigadeiros

Beef Churrasco with Farofa

Pão de Queijo - Cheese Bread balls made from cassava (manioc) flour

Moqueca de Peixe e Camarão with Maracuja

Caipirinha and Kibe de Carne

That all sounds great so I'll be adding these to next's week's menu plan for sure. Watch this space to see how we get on !

  1. Very tempting recipes, especially for birgadeiros and caipirinha.
