You may remember me telling you about a recent competition at Hallmark, in conjunction with ITV1’s Daybreak, which invited youngsters aged 6-16 years old to create a card that captured exactly what Christmas meant to them, using a seasonal greeting and hand drawn original artwork of Santa within their design.
The winner has now been announced and the cards are on sale on the Hallmark website along with other cards designed by celebrities such as X factor judges Gary Barlow and Tulisa, and Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden. All proceeds go to charity so if you still haven't bought your cards, they're perfect.

Not sure which charity card to send your pop-loving, soap-addict, nearest and dearest this Yule-tide? The solution is here…
Hallmark, the card and gift specialist, has joined forces with ITV1’s Daybreak to produce its official ‘Text Santa’ charity Christmas cards. The pack of six cards contains five celebrity designs, each with a special message from their star designer, along with a unique print from a lucky Daybreak competition winner. Each pack sold will raise funds for six specially chosen charities and they’re on sale from 23rd November.
The Text Santa appeal is working on behalf of six specially chosen charities offering life-changing services to vulnerable people throughout the UK. For 2012, the six chosen charities set to benefit from funds raised include, Age UK, Anthony Nolan, Carers UK, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Together for Short Lives and Whizz-Kidz. Text Santa will culminate in an entertainment spectacular on 21st December on ITV1.
The likes of Gary Barlow, Tulisa, The Saturdays, Lorraine Kelly, Aled Jones, and Emmerdale’s Matthew Wolfenen have all put pen to paper to show off their art skills together with competition winner, six-year-old Demi Holmes. To claim her place in the pack, Demi won a nationwide ‘Sketch Santa’ competition (set up by ITV1 Daybreak and Hallmark) by creating a card that captured exactly what Christmas meant to her.
Now, Demi’s winning card will be sold alongside the five celeb-designed creations to create a charity card six-pack. The pack is available today in Hallmark stores, at www.hallmark.co.uk and from the 24th in Asda stores. They will cost from £1.99 with at least 50p going to the ‘Text Santa’ appeal, which in turn supports six worthy charities.
The bespoke pack of Christmas cards features the following designs all with a special joyeaux message from each of the celebrities themselves:
Gary Barlow’s magical Santa flying through the skies
The Saturdays’ groovy breakdancing ‘Saturday night Santa’
Tulisa’s feasting Santa tucking into a Christmas banquet
Emmerdale’s Matthew Wolfenden ‘Santadale’, with Santa and his sheep-come reindeer lost in the Yorkshire Dales
Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones’ presenter Santa and snowman sidekick
Competition winner Demi Holmes’ extra special star-spangled Santa
The message from Gary Barlow, featured with his Christmas card design, reads: “When I was a little boy, I remember looking out of my window on a snowy Christmas Eve and seeing Santa riding his sleigh! It was the best Christmas present ever to see Santa, so my card is all about the magic and bubbling excitement of Santa and Christmas Eve! Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas!”
Lorraine and Aled also added: "Christmas brings back all those memories of being cosy at home and getting everyone together for a good old celebration! This year whilst we are at home with our friends and families we are leaving the presenting on the Daybreak sofa to these two special guests! Have a magical Christmas and a wonderful New Year! Love from Lorraine and Aled xx”
