Bear Alpha Bites review

We've told you before above how much we love Bear Snacks, because they're fun, delicious and also healthy. We were therefore over the moon to learn that they have branched out into breakfast cereal with their new Alpha Bites.

They sent us through this fabulous package for us to discover the new products, but also have a fun afternoon of crafting.

All three of the Madhouse Mini-testers took their space-themed projects very seriously - just look at how hard Pierre is concentrating on his rocket ! I laid out some little piles of the cereal next to their workstations to give them enough energy to see it through to the end ! Even without milk, they were declared delicious, especially the chocolate ones.

As we waited for the paint and glue to dry, Pierre had fun pretending to be an alien !

And here they are - our finished wooden spoon spacemen !

The verdict ? Well, the writing is on the wall table ! We love them !

Having tasted how nice they are, I was actually surprised to read the box and discover that they contain no added sugar or salt. In fact, they are made with just six natural ingredients. Bear explain : "Alphabites contain coconut nectar, a deliciously sweet sap buried inside the flowers of the coconut tree, allowing us to make a naturally sweet and crunchy cereal without the need to add any sugar at all to the product. BEAR’s new Alphabites continue our focus on making tasty nibbles that contain absolutely no added nonsense. With no added sugar or salt, our crunchy cereal letters are high in fibre, low GI and contain one of your three daily wholegrain portions."

If you're wondering where the space theme comes in, it's all to do with the packaging. Each of the packs takes kids on an adventure into a particular theme, focused on an individual cereal letter- so S is for Space, P is for Pirates, I is for Insects etc. There are eight individually illustrated packs that allow kids to delve into the worlds of intergalactic space travel, the perilous seas of pirates or the deep waters of the world’s oceans. The remaining 18 letters of the BEAR’s Alphabet will roll out over the next 12 months.

We'll definitely be looking out for them again.
