I'm loving all the challenges that we've taken part in so far - eating tomatoes in different ways each day, letting the kids plan lunches for a week, going on a Mys-Deli bus tour and having lunch inspired by a different country each day.
This week's mission - should we choose to accept it - was : "Put unusual flavours together in a wrap and get the kids to eat them blindfolded. They need to guess what the weird but it works flavours are. Best of 3 ‘what’s that wrap’ wins! And whatever their favourite is goes in Monday’s lunchbox. Yum!"
That sounded like fun so it was time to get very weird and wonderful and creative. The star ingredient was obviously going to be a pack of Mission Deli Wraps but what about the fillings? I decided to try out these combinations :
Nutella and BBQ flavour Crisps - I blame my sister for this one !
Camembert and Grapes - a bit more sophisticated than the other two, but what would the kids think?
Well, here they are, ready and waiting ! (Sophie doesn't want to be on youtube because all her friends go on there so she's off camera for the videos !)
Chocolate Chips and Bacon - yes really ! After making Bacon & Choc Chip Cookies for another challenge earlier in the year, we were amazed to see that it really does work !

Juliette recognised the cheese but thought the grapes were apple. It got a thumbs up from her even when she saw that she was eating stinky camembert and grapes though. Pierre wasn't keen, Sophie loved it.
For the second wrap, they guessed the filling - chocolate (well, close enough, it was Nutella) and crisps. (I think the crunch helped them guess !) Unanimous thumbs up all round, much to my surprise !
For the final wrap, they worked out that it contained bacon but not chocolate chips. Pierre didn't like it but both girls declared this their favourite.
We had great fun, as well as learning that putting a blindfold on Pierre inexplicably makes him start singing ! The winning wrap was : chocolate chip and bacon !
