Q Pootle 5, based on the best-selling books by the hugely popular children’s author and illustrator Nick Butterworth, will be coming in to land on DVD and digital platforms on Monday 6th October 2014, courtesy of Proper Distribution.
We received a copy of the DVD to review and settled down to watch all 13 episodes featuring Q Pootle 5 and his friends Oopsy, Eddi, Stella, Ray, Groobie, Bud-D and Planet Dave as they tackle the everyday problems of the final frontier. It has a total runtime of 143 minutes so this took us several sittings ! You can see the trailer for the DVD here.
The episode listing is as follows :
1. The Great Space Race
2. Pootle's House Guest
3. Groobie's Spacewash
4. A Day With Ray
5. The Biggest Picture Ever
6. Maurice
7. Rocket Bird Oopsy
8. Flower Power
9. Hitting The High Note
10. The Singing Valley
11. Runaway Rocket
12. Eddi's Hat
13. It Came From Outer Space
It also has some really good bonus content. The Madhouse kids love singing along with the Okidoki Karaoke, and they also love the smoothie recipe, quiz and colouring activity sheet that come in the box. There is also a 37 minute "The Making Of Q Pootle 5" documentary which I found quite interesting but they got bored with.
Fancy having a singalong too? Here's a clip of the karaoke, for your entertainment !
In addition to the DVD release, Q Pootle 5 puzzles and games – including a 35 piece puzzle assortment, 4-in-1 shaped puzzle and giant playing cards – from Jumbo and two brand new picture books from Walker Books, will arrive in-stores this Autumn. Egmont will also release a special Q Pootle 5 magazine, packed with Q Pootle 5 stories and activities, in November. Sounds like perfect stocking fillers to me !
Q Pootle 5: The Great Space Race And Other Adventures! is available to buy from Amazon. Don't miss my next blogpost where you can win a copy of the DVD right here on my blog !
