It's definitely hot chocolate weather !

One of our regular treats during the autumn and winter is a lovely warming mug of hot chocolate when we get home from the school run on a drizzly, blustery day. We were therefore delighted when Cadbury sent us through a tub of their drinking chocolate along with a very impressive selection of recipes to try out.

Just the names had us salivating - Heavenly Hazenut, Oreo Chocolate Crush, Scrumptious Strawberry Surprise, Frosty Frappe, Fabulous Flake Indulgent, Cinnamon Delight, Minty Hot Chocolate, Toasted Marshmallow Moment, Tempting Toffee Apple, ...

Sophie was more than happy to be my chief tester ! Here are a few of our favourites, if you want to try them out.

Fabulous Flake Indulgent - Combine 3 heaped teaspoons of Cadbury's Drinking Chocolate, 200ml cold semi-skimmed milk and 20ml hazelnut syrup in a stainless steel jug then heat and foam with a steel arm to approximately 70 degrees. Squirt with light cream and garnish with a flake 99. (Even without a milk frother, the idea of using a flake as a hot chocolate stirrer got a thumbs up here at The Madhouse !)

Oreo Chocolate CrushPut 4 heaped teaspoons of Cadbury's Drinking Chocolate, 3 Oreos, 200ml semi-skimmed milk, 50g vanilla frappe mix and a 12oz cup of ice cubes in a blender (ice cubes last). Mix on high on the frappe setting for 35 seconds. Pour into a glass and garnish with half a crumbled Oreo.

Tempting Toffee AppleCombine 3 heaped teaspoons of Cadbury's Drinking Chocolate, 200ml cold semi-skimmed milk and 20ml toffee apple syrup in a stainless steel jug then heat and foam with a steel arm to approximately 70 degrees.

Disclosure : We received some drinking chocolate to test out the recipes.
