Nanoblock Sights To See London icons (review)

When Marbel got in touch and asked if we'd like to review some of their range, I had one look and instantly knew that they would be a huge hit, especially when I saw their Nanoblock London icons sets.

The Madhouse kids still speak enthusiastically about our weekend in London last year when we saw (amongst other things) the Poppies at the Tower of London

And obviously, if we saw the Tower of London, we also saw Tower Bridge.

Which does look very similar to the Nanoblock version, in a pixelised, Minecraft kind of way !

I think it looks even better with the roadbridge open. The Nanoblock Tower Bridge set contains over 550 bricks (including quite a few spares, so don't panic if you accidentally drop one on the floor and can't find it !) and has a 3/5 difficulty rating.

We started off with the London Tour Bus kit, because it is an easier shape and has a lower difficulty rating (2/5).

This kit is smaller but still contains 350+ bricks. Each brick is like a scaled down Lego brick, measuring about 4 x 4 x 5mm for the smallest ones, so it is very fiddly and you do need lots of patience. The fact that it requires extra skill makes it a great follow-on product for tweens and teens who have outgrown their classic construction sets and want to go on to something more challenging.

The enclosed step-by-step instruction sheet does show you exactly what you need to do though, so as long as you follow it to the letter, it's not too taxing.

Once you've got hooked and want to complete your London Sights To See collection, there is also a Big Ben set, but I love the fact that there are monuments from across the globe, as well as a huge selection of other themed sets, including lots of small ones that would make great stocking fillers. I can certainly see this becoming a new hobby here at The Madhouse.

star rating : 4.5/5

RRP : £16.99 for each of the sets

All toys are distributed exclusively by Marbel and are available via Amazon.

  1. Hi, I found your blog while searching for Nanoblocks London Bus instructions. I was just wondering if you are able to take a cleary photo of your instructions of the london bus? I dropped mine and the blocks shattered and discovered the instructions are long gone. I am hoping if you could help out? Thank you in advance
