Dunkirk always have a whole programme of festivities planned in the run up to Christmas.
We headed into town on Saturday and had a look around the Christmas market, then waited for it to get dark so that we could see it all lit up.
There was a little illuminated underwater-themed parade called Abyss which had street performers wearing giant fish that they made dance/swim around.
There were also acrobats and stilt-walkers ...
A warrior riding a giant seahorse ...
And some very effective illuminated blue jellyfish that seemed to be floating through the gloom.
I managed to take a little video so you can see it in all its glory.
Wow, that looks like such an amazing procession to have seen, I bet the kids were enthralled watching the different lit up costumes dance passed as if under water. I'm sure you all enjoyed your trip to Dunkirk to see all the lights and festivities. Thanks for linking up with me on Country Kids.

ReplyDeleteOoh I loved the illuminated parade at Eurodisney and I bet the American ones are miles better :)
DeleteWhat a spectacular performance! We'd love to see it, alas, we don't have anything like that in winter, only a summer parade in town
ReplyDeleteI've just been writing up a roundup of the year and it's amazing the number of free events that Dunkirk puts on throughout the year. :)
