Wired Kidzgear headphones for kids review

Sophie was over-the-moon to get her first "grown up" present for her 10th birthday this summer - an mp3 player from Nanny and Grandad. The only thing that she wasn't keen on was the bud earphones, designed to fit inside her ears and which she found uncomfortable.

Absolutely perfect timing. One of the items in the fabulous prize pack that we won courtesy of Red Ted Art and Fly Thomas Cook Kids Club (for our entry which you can see here) was a pair of Wired Kidzgear headphones for kids. Sophie tried them on and said they were much more comfortable and that the sound was better.

As a parent, I love the fact that they are volume-controlled and the maximum is at a safe level for little ears. This meant that I was even happy to let 2-year-old Pierre have a listen when he asked, which he thought was hilarious. He had great fun singing "money money money" along with Jessie J !

I had a listen too (even if they are a bit small for my head !) and I was really impressed with the sound. On the Kidz Gear website, they explain that they are "the first adult-featured stereo headphones made specifically for kids. Manufactured with the same high quality components as those used in high-performance adult headphones, the Kidz Gear Wired Headphones deliver extremely rich stereo sound quality for all your audio needs - DVDs, MP3s, Game Players, Television, Radio and more. They are a must for children in the car, on the plane or hanging out at home."

We have the wired version but, if your kids are constantly getting tangled up, they also come as wireless headphones too. You can find them on amazon for £21.49.
