Ooharr Cream Face Masks review

When I called my blog Madhouse Family Reviews, I chose the name because the whole family helps out with the testing, as was proved when we received these Ooharr Cream Face Masks to review ! The Madhouse kids were instantly attracted by the bright colours of the packaging and the fruity scents.

In the red pack was Fruity Magic Rejuvenating Cream Face Mask, made with pomegranate and also containing rejuvenating green tea, skin soothing aloe and regenerating honey, as well as vitamins A, C and E. It promises to detox the skin, leaving it soft and supple with a natural glow, and can also treat spot-prone skin (which is good news for Juliette who is horrified to have her first ever spot !). The orange pack contains Juicy Burst Nourishing Face Mask, featuring orange as its key ingredient, but also pore-tightening lime, rejuvenating cucumber, soothing calendula and refreshing olive. It promises to give you a flawless complexion by using vitamin C to see off dull skin, then deep cleanse, hydrate, nourish and revitalise.

The masks have a thick creamy texture so they're easy to apply. You just wash your face with warm water, leave it damp then apply the mask. After 10-15 minutes, you wash it off and, if you're feeling brave, splash your face with cold water to close your pores.

It's suitable for all skin types so I didn't mind when the kids said they wanted to try it too. In one 15ml pack, there was plenty for me, Juliette and Pierre to use !

As you can see from the photos, one taken just after applying the mask and the second after 15 minutes relaxing (erm ok, fifteen minutes saying "no, you can't scratch your nose", "don't get cream all over the pillow", "no, the dog can't lick it off your face", "it'll get all over your glasses if you put them on now", ... !), much of the cream absorbs into your skin. You can feel a very slight tingle as it does its magic but there was no redness or itchiness after I'd washed it off, so I think this is normal, not an allergic reaction.

With the recent cold weather and biting wind in the morning at the bus stop, my skin has been feeling tight, tingly and dehydrated lately, so this was a great way of nourishing it. The cream washed off easily, leaving no greasiness at all, and my skin certainly felt more nourished and less dry.

As there is just enough for two applications in a pack (they are supposed to be single-use really), this would be great for some mother-daughter bonding or a girlie pamper session with your best mate. They would also be ideal as stocking fillers for tween or teen girls, especially as they are so cheap (only £1.20 per pack), or for Secret Santas.

The Ooharr brand was developed by Amphora Aromatics, one of the UK’s largest suppliers of pure essential oils and aromatherapy products. The new cream masks, ‘Juicy Burst’ and ‘Fruity Magic’, join Ooharr’s deep cleansing face masks – ‘Rosie Glow’, ‘Dead Sea Cooler’ and ‘Star Glow’, to create a naturally effective range to detoxify and draw out impurities, that doesn’t cost the earth.
