Well, with the wonders of modern technology (ie scheduled posts and automatic tweets), you'd be forgiven for not actually noticing that I haven't actually been here for the past fortnight ! I was slightly gutted to see that my klout score went up by two points in my absence and my site stats have been pretty much as high as when I'm here - maybe I should go away more often !!
Anyway, here's where we were and what we were getting up to. We were in Zarzis, just south of Djerba, in Tunisia.
Day one - by the end of the fortnight, she was swimming like a mermaid with no help at all !
Splashing in the pool
Even the camels on the beach needed a sunhat - temperatures reached the 50's on many days !
Sophie and Madhouse Daddy Mike went kayaking in the sea
Juliette almost went on a "banana" ride then chickened out when they all fell off going round a corner!
lots of Mini Disco dancing
laughing at "that man having a balloon that looks like a willy" (and Mido, who wouldn't look out of place doing carnival in Dunkirk in that outfit !)
looks like we wore them out
at a salt lake
touching the sand of the Sahara desert (which is really orange and really fine)
eating "cornes de gazelle", the local delicacy
taking a horse and cart to go hunting for shells at a deserted beach
meeting the camels at the ranch
taking the Mini Disco routine very seriously
and visiting a crocodile farm (we even brought back some crocodile teeth !)
That cheeky monkey Betty WoodenGran stowed away in our suitcase so look out for her Tunisian adventures over on her blog too !
Next stop ... Brittany !!

ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you enjoyed Tunisia. We went many many years ago and didn't have such a good time - poor weather and bad hotel. So it's great to read positive things about the country or my view would always be coloured by my not-so-good experience!
ReplyDeletelooks like you and your family had a great holiday. Will there be reviews on the hotels and attractions to come?
ReplyDeleteI wasn't planning on doing them but I guess I could :) I'm still gadding about at the moment, in Brittany and Hastings, but I'll get back to serious blogging once we all get back home and into routines again :)
DeleteSounds like a great family holiday! I went to Djerba ages ago when I was 16 - perhaps I should get back there!
