Cinderella Jewellery Box review

What little girl wouldn't squeal with delight when confronted with this Cinderella-themed Jewellery Box from Jakks Pacific ? That's certainly what 7-year-old Juliette did anyway when the postie dropped it off and I think she's pretty representative of that age group ! She thought it looked just like Cinderella's carriage and couldn't wait to look inside.

She wasn't disappointed - she squealed again when she discovered the plastic model of Cinderella and Prince Charming dancing, especially when it started turning and playing music. I remember being equally wowed by music boxes when I was a child - they all seemed to have ballerinas inside of them back them - and this sense of magical wonderment obviously hasn't been diminished by access to video games and 24/7 cartoons.

The pink plastic part slides open, revealing lots of space for you to stash your jewellery (and other treasures). As a grown-up, it seemed a bit flimsy and I was concerned it wouldn't be robust enough to put up with a lot of over enthusiastic opening, closing and sliding but Juliette's delight knew no bounds (which made me smile because she's quite a tomboy usually !).

In case you haven't got any jewellery to put away, they even supply a ring and bracelet to start off your collection.

Juliette's smile says it all - she absolutely loves it and it has pride of place on her shelf to stash all her secret treasures in. It's not the sturdiest jewellery box I've seen and does seem quite expensive for what it is, but, in Juliette's eyes, it's obviously perfect and that's the most important thing!
