Simple Revitalising Eye Roll-On review

I love the way my blog is evolving (I'm sure it's got a mind of its own!) and settling into a bit of a new routine - Sunday is the day I post my weekly weigh-in and my fruit & veg box post, Friday is now my menu-planning post day, Saturday afternoons are often for baking but I may not get time to blog about our efforts until half way through the week ... It's funny to think that I used to focus on pregnancy, breastfeeding and babies ! One of the new things that has been adopted recently is a Saturday evening "beauty parlour" pamper session with Sophie so get ready for lots of new beauty reviews from us both.

Tonight, I've been trying out this Kind To Eyes Revitalising Roll-On from Simple. I love the packaging that says "a smile starts on the lips and spreads to the eyes".

The product  is really easy to apply - the gel comes straight out, right from the second you start applying it (I thought I'd have to roll it around for a while, like when you start writing with a new ballpoint pen) - and the roll-on is precise and comfortable to use. The instructions say : "For best results: Apply the Revitalising Eye Roll-On to the eye area in light circular movements. If required smooth in any remaining liquid with your fingertips. Avoid contact with eyes. Use with our Kind to Eyes Soothing Eye Balm when you need to soothe and wind down tired eyes."

Well, here you have an "after" photo on the left (or at the top, depending on your screen resolution) and a "before" photo on the right (or at the bottom). I'm not sure it actually looks much different - maybe slightly less puffy? - but it certainly feels lovely and soothing. It's cooling and seems to moisturise the skin area. You can rub any excess product in with your fingers, although I didn't find this necessary, and it is quickly absorbed by the skin.

The packaging explains that it contains Pro-Vitamin B5 to actively restore, soften and smooth your skin, as well as three skin-loving nutrients: Cucumber Extract to refresh and revitalise, Glycerin to hydrate and nourish and Lupin Extract to reduce puffiness. That actually makes perfect sense - if you imagine lying back with slices of cucumber on your eyes for ten minutes, that's the feeling you instantly get after using the roll-on. It contains no perfume, colour or harsh chemicals and is dermatologically tested and approved.

It's a great little pick-me-up for first thing in the morning or after a long day at work. I also think this would be lovely in the summer when I'm suffering from hayfever and have sore, itchy eyes, or after spending too much time in front of the computer !
