AirWick UK National Parks Collection review

In the wintertime, I love warming scents like vanilla and cinnamon around the house, making it feel cosy and snug but, come springtime, natural floral fragrances and scents that remind me of fresh air and sunshine are the way to go. When it's still a bit too cold to throw open the windows or actually get out in the countryside, I want my air fresheners to give me the impression that my house is full of fresh air and natural springtime smells (of the flowers and warm breeze variety, not muck spreading !).

I'm obviously not alone because, with perfect timing as it's the start of springtime today, AirWick, in partnership with UK National Parks, has launched a new range of fragrances inspired by some of the nation's best known and loved landscapes. The collaboration aims to capture the freshness of Britain's ‘breathing spaces’ and bring the great outdoors indoors, as well as raise greater awareness of Britain’s National Parks and help generate funds for vital heritage projects.

The collection celebrates four iconic countryside locations and we were very excited to try them all out:

First up was Yorkshire Dales with a White Roses and Pink Sweet Pea fragrance. Imagine the smell of springtime in a bottle, with the first delicate flowers putting in an appearance and this is it. It's feminine (but that didn't stop Madhouse Daddy liking it !), fresh  and uplifting. Perfect for putting the finishing touches to your spring cleaning.

Next, we were off on an olfactory voyage to Exmoor with a Sea Spray and Ocean Minerals fragrance. This is a really refreshing and invigorating scent - you can almost feel the salty spray on your face !

The Peak District (Spring Breeze and Golden Lily) fragrance is another refreshing, uplifting fragrance that brings to mind summer meadows and warm sunny days outdoors.

The Brecon Beacons  are represented by a Wild Blossom & Fresh Mountain Dew fragrance. I've been to the Brecon Beacons, once upon a time many moons ago, and to be honest, this fragrance didn't remind me of my trip there with the uni mountaineering club - admittedly, it's preferable by far to the stink of far too many people squished into a little climbing hut and the stench of soggy woollen socks steaming by the fire !

The new spring/summer collection is designed to reflect the changing seasons and represent the rich diversity of Britain’s rural landscape. As well as loving the different fragrances and trying to mentally transport myself to the different national parks represented, I love the wide range of products available in the range - you can choose between plug-ins, Freshmatic refills, Crystal Air gel variants and some rather lovely premium candles.

  3. Nice idea. As it is always nice to have nice scents, and healthy outdoor visits. So the collaboration hopefully will be successful.
