I hope you've been practising your wrist-flicking action, Pancake Day is tomorrow so you've only got a few hours left to perfect your pancake tossing skills ! Lyle's sent us through some limited edition Pancake Syrups for us to try out which come in two variants, Golden Syrup and Maple. They're both delicious on ice cream as well as pancakes and make a lovely gooey ingredient for flapjacks and cookies too. The limited edition Lyle’s Golden Syrup Pancake bottles are currently available in all national retailers with a RRP of £1.00 for 325g.
They also sent us through a Breakfast squeezy bottle of Lyle's Golden Syrup which has been specially designed for taking to the table to squeeze on your porridge in the morning. I've been using it for everything though, from drizzling on toast and porridge to using it in cooking (such as these dead easy Peanut Butter Crispy Bars or these beautifully gooey Golden Syrup Oat Cookies with Smarties). I absolutely love the squeezy bottle which is mess-free and so much easier to use than the usual tin with a spoon. It's a much more precise way of measuring out spoonfuls in cooking and I love the fact that there are no drips. The new Lyle’s Golden Syrup Breakfast Bottle is available now in Tesco, Asda and Ocado stores with an RRP of £1.89 for 340g.
If you're in London tomorrow, Lyle’s Golden Syrup are hosting a free pancake festival on Phipp Street in East London, which will feature a number of food stalls and trucks serving up hundreds of complimentary pancakes drizzled with a variety of tasty toppings, including the much loved Lyle’s Golden Syrup. Festival goers will also be treated to expert cookery demonstrations and other delicious goodies to take away. The Lyle’s Golden Syrup Pancake Day Festival is located a short walk from Old Street Station and will be open from 11.00am to 3.00pm. If you fancy making your own and want to try something a bit different, Lyle's Golden Syrup website is teeming with fab recipes to try. I love the look of these Chocolate Nutty Cream Pancakes.
Whatever you choose, happy Pancake Day tomorrow !
