Wow, what a week ! After watching the events in Paris unfolding and coming to terms with the fact that it was a huge coordinated attack rather than just some loony with a gun, I really couldn't be bothered with weighing-in on Sunday morning. I snuggled up in bed with the kids eating chocolate pancakes and watching cartoons (on the rare channels that weren't describing and showing every grisly detail of the aftermath) instead. Seeing Brussels on TV being turned into a ghost town yesterday due to a new multiple bomb and gun attack expected "imminently" seemed slightly surreal, as did having to come off the motorway to go round a roundabout flanked by machine gun-toting policemen before being allowed back on the motorway to cross the Belgian border yesterday. What is the world coming to ?
But this is a weigh-in post, so back to the scales. Well, two weeks ago, I finally shifted off my plateau and got down 89kg. When I finally weighed in on Monday, I was back to 90kg which was not really fair because apart from those chocolate pancakes, it had been a good week in terms of food.
So I made a decision - I've dusted off the SlimPod and I'm going to do it properly again. Listening to it every day, filling in the success log and just basically believing it will happen. It worked before so there's no reason it shouldn't work again ... and I don't why I stopped listening to it really. It just seemed to be doing its magic and I got complacent. I started on Friday night and today, the scales were kind and said 89.2kg. Not sure how much of that is down to the SlimPod though as it usually takes a while to kick in - verdict next week !
Positives of the week
- The cold weather is perfect for eating soups and I have a weird craving for stir-fried vegetables at the moment - SlimPod having its first effects?!
