I've just blogged about switching over to LED lighting as a simple, cost-effective way of saving energy and money on your lighting bills, as well as reducing your carbon footprint. I was really surprised to see the wide range of types of bulbs on offer, as well as quite how much you can hope to save.
Did you know?:
You could save £9.15 per month by swapping 12 standard 50W halogen light bulbs to LEDs – that’s a massive £2,550 over the bulbs’ lifespan!
LEDs last 25-30 years and won’t fade over time, break or burn out like most other bulbs
LEDs use 90% less energy than traditional incandescent lights
A typical home switching all its halogen lights to LED equivalents could also save a staggering 6 tonnes of CO2
I'm pleased to have a £60 voucher for LED Hut to give away to one Madhouse Family Reviews reader. This should be plenty for switching at least one typical room over to LED light bulbs.
To be in with a chance of winning, just do the following :
- visit: http://www.ledhut.co.uk/ and click on ‘calculate your savings’
- Leave me a comment in the comments box below, with a way of contacting you (twitter name or email) and tell me how much the calculator says you could save per month on your lighting bill by switching to LED lights.
