My target for last week was to get back to my pre-Christmas weight and have a bigger number on my "weight lost" than "weight left to lose" badge again. I failed last week - I actually put on 200g ! - but my New Year's Resolution this year is to not worry about what the scales say. I know I won't be able to resist using them to chart my progress but I am well aware that the number on the scales doesn't always reflect how well you've been doing so more important is how well I've been eating and how much exercise I've been packing in.
This week, the snow arrived in force and when you're freezing cold, you want to tuck into hearty comfort food rather than salad ! I've been eating loads of soup though, as well as chicken-based dishes and a veggie-packed fish pie. Exercise wise, I was disappointed to not find time to do my fitness DVD at all (my hour between getting home from work and running off to pick up the kids has been reduced to about half an hour with the buses delayed due to the weather conditions so I didn't have time to squeeze it in) but we got our new settee delivered, so I did have a good vacuuming session moving around heavy furniture, which has got to be a bit of a workout !
OK, time to jump on the scales !
Well, about the same really - a loss of 300g. Could be worse. But it could be better too so I'll try and fit in at least one Kardy-O-Fun session next week to see if that gives me the kick start I need. This afternoon, I predict a fun half hour running about in the snow with the kids having a snowball fight, so that's got to burn off a few calories too !
START WEIGHT : 91.9kg
TARGET WEIGHT : 66kg
WEIGHT LAST WEEK : 79.6kg
WEIGHT TODAY : 79.3g
WEIGHT LOST SO FAR : 12.6kg
STILL TO GO : 13.3kg
CHANGE THIS WEEK : -0.3kg
Next week will be interesting. I'm taking part in Farmhouse Breakfast Week and eating breakfast every day, which is (slap my wrist) a meal I generally skip. I sometimes grab a banana on the way to the bus but that's as good as it gets. I always figure I'm saving on the calories, but I know everyone says breakfast is still important, even when you're trying to lose weight, so I'll see if it has any impact. Hopefully I won't put loads of weight back on !!

Well done on your loss, I've been eating more because of the cold weather too. Enjoy your snow ball fight xx
ReplyDeletePeople tend to forget that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day - good luck with next week and it will be fab to see how you get on!
ReplyDeleteLove your theory that the scales don't always represent what you have been doing. The snow did mean that I actually walked to school the other day carrying the sledge and a bag of warm clothes for Liv and then dragged her over a mile back - felt shattered but refreshed. The only good thing about this weather!
Good luck with the next week... onwards and downwards!

Naughty you not eating breakfast! I know what you mean though I never used to eat it, but they say it starts your metabolism for the day so you never know you may even lose more as you'll start burning calories and creating energy earlier in the day! Well done on losing last week, good luck for this week! x

LOL I know - but I'm out of the house at 6.55 mornings so I usually prefer having a cuddle with the kids and making sure they get something in their bellies rather than sorting out something to eat for myself !

DeleteKeep going, you will get there in the end! :) My weight loss/healthy eating/exercise hasn't happened at all this month but I plan to really put the effort in Feb! I've had a bad back so that's my excuse for not exercising as much but I've no excuse for the unhealthy eating!
ReplyDeleteStill a loss! It all helps. Looks like you're enjoying your breakfasts too :)
