After Eight Dessert Pots review

If you opened the Madhouse fridge last week, you'd have been forgiven for thinking that we had a serious chocaholic staying with us! Just look at this fabulous delivery from the lovely people at After Eight, to introduce their new After Eight desserts. I always love After Eight Mints at the end of a meal because they freshen up your mouth if you've been eating anything pongy like garlic or stinky cheese, and the coolness of the mint tames down any fiery tongues if you've been eating spicy food ! I was intrigued to see how this would translate into a dessert pot though.

Well, I have to say, they're not bad at all. They are described as a "smooth white mint fondant with a rich dark chocolate topping". They do give you the idea of eating an After Eight Mint with the combination of mint and chocolate, but the mint part is much less strong and fresh than in the original version. They're lovely but do get quite sickly so one 70g pot is quite enough.

Each pot contains 125 calories, 4.7g of fat (of which 3.1g saturates), 16.6g of sugar and 0g of salt. For an indulgent chocolatey dessert, I don't think that's too bad.

But the generosity of After Eights didn't stop there. They also sent us through this fabulous coffee press and oodles of lovely coffee to try out with it. Now that, and an After Eight dessert pot, sounds like the absolutely perfect end to a meal to me !
