Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest Play will form a key part of the Christmas events offering at Bluewater, which also includes a skating rink, Santa’s Grotto and the best in Christmas shopping at over 300 retailers.

The opening words to the hit TV series produced by Tiger Aspect Productions and series of books by Lauren Child are known to millions of children (and their parents). In Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest Play, Charlie, his small and very funny sister Lola and their magical world are brought to life on stage through a mix of puppets, live action and music.

Will Charlie ever get Lola to sleep, even though she is not sleepy and will not go to bed? It won’t be easy – the Tigers want their bedtime milk, the Dancing Dogs have borrowed Lola’s pyjamas and Lola thinks there is an OGRE hiding in the wardrobe!

Performed by Watershed Productions and developed by BBC Worldwide with Tiger Aspect Productions, Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest Play has been acclaimed by parents and critics - not to mention little audience members. It was described as “an ideal early theatre experience” by the Guardian. Suitable for all ages, the shows is aimed at children of three years and over and is especially ideal for 4-6 year olds.

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL PROMOTION

There will be 20 standard seats on sale for each performance in the run at the special gift price of £10 per person. This price is inclusive of all booking fees and VAT. This is a limited allocation and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

Buying tickets: Standard ticket prices start at £14 per person, and a family ticket for 4 people is £50. Additional booking fees apply to online advance sales; these are detailed on the Ticketmaster website.

Running time: 55 minutes (no interval)

Dates and Times: The first performance will be at 4pm on Friday 13 December and the show will be staged daily through to Sunday 5 January 2014 (excluding Christmas Day). Show times are 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm (not all times are available on all days – the complete performance schedule is shown on the Ticketmaster and Glow websites).
