One of the drinks that we discovered on holiday was watermelon sorbet. It had a consistency somewhere between melted sorbet and a smoothie and came in huge glasses as a drinkable dessert. As you can see, the Madhouse Mini-testers loved it !
I've been trying to recreate the recipe since we got back and I think this is the closest we'll get. If anyone else has another version though, I'd love to hear from you !
Watermelon sorbet
ingredients :
3 cups of watermelon, seeds removed
1 cup sorbet (strawberry, raspberry or peach would all work well)
freshly-squeezed orange juice to dilute, if necessary
Put the watermelon and sorbet in a blender and whizz until smooth. If the consistency is too thick, dilute with a little orange juice. Pour into glasses and serve with fruit cubes around the edge and a straw.
By the way, if you're wondering what Juliette's wearing, it's her fabulous Moroccan princess dress that we bought in the souk. It comes as a really long piece of material and a sash belt. The top edge has ties which you knot at chest height around the back. Then you put the material down and through your legs then back up to shoulder height where it has arm holes. The sash is tied around the waist to keep it all in place. It looks beautiful but is really not practical for going to the toilet !
