Knorr got in touch last week to proudly reveal that their Gravy Pots have been named Product of the Year in the Gravy & Stock category. Product of the Year is the world’s largest consumer-voted award for product innovation, highlighting products which save time and really hit the spot with consumers.
In honour of the occasion, Knorr sent us a fabulous parcel containing everything we needed to knock up the ultimate roast dinner - a lovely piece of beef, some potatoes, carrots, parsnips, broccoli and some gravy pots of course. There was even a proper gravy boat.
We've tried the gravy pots before and they are really convenient . As I usually use gravy granules, I tend to make a really thick gravy so the gravy pots gravy is runnier by comparison, although it still has a lovely rich flavour.
To get the thicker consistency that we like, I fry up some onions and mushrooms before plopping in a gravy pot, adding some hot water and stirring in the juices from the roast.
Now how's that for gravy of the year ?!
Umm ... you may notice there isn't a photo of the final dish once it's plated up. Well, it was a victim of its own success and everyone tucked in before I had a chance to immortalise it ! Take my word for it, it was very nice indeed though !
Disclosure : We received a roast dinner hamper from Knorr in honour of their gravy pots being named Product of the Year.
