I told you last week about ASDA's fun #SaveSummer campaign - if you head over to their #SaveSummer page, you'll find a whole host of ways to keep the kids entertained over the summer, with more activity ideas being unlocked each week. Last week, we got busy making grassheads. This week's activity was intriguingly called Angry Water Birds. The goodies in the pack were a range of Angry Birds products, a pack of balloons and some chalk. Hmm curiouser and curiouser, to quote Alice in Wonderland !
I read the instructions and discovered that it's actually a genius idea. I sent the kids outside to the big car park opposite our house with the chalk and an instruction sheet on how to draw the Angry Birds piggies. Sophie did a great job !
Meanwhile, I filled up the balloons with water in the kitchen (which was easier said than done !).
Time to put those artistic talents to use again. The water-filled balloons were turned into angry birds.
We transported the balloons outside and it was time to throw the angry birds at the poor defenceless piggies. I don't know who had the most fun - the kids or the grown-ups !
Bullseye ! (Or should that be pigseye ?!)
Well, I think you can safely say there are no piggies left !
I was wearing the perfect T-shirt for the occasion ! I love this activity idea and we'll definitely be doing it again - it's great fun and the perfect way to cool down on a hot day. It also causes less arguments than the usual water fight with people aiming at each other, rather than the piggy targets !
There are plenty of other activities on the #SaveSummer website, with more being made available as the summer progresses so call back often for more summer fun inspiration !
