Boogie Wipes review

As a mum of three, changing pooey nappies and cleaning up sick has never fazed me, but I must admit, sucking out bogies with a baby nose aspirator always turned my stomach. I was really pleased when the kids learnt to use a tissue and have their noses wiped rather than sucked out !

When they have a cold and a red, sore nose, kids often don't like having their snotty noses wiped though, but help is at hand with a new product to hit the UK market (after launching in the US in 2007). Boogie Wipes are extra soft saline wipes designed to dissolve mucus (ewww !) and they are widely recommended by pediatricians as a gentle, effective alternative to a dry tissue.

As Pierre had a bunged up nose, he was nominated chief tester of the day. He opted for the Great Grape Scented wipe and, as you can see, loved the fruity fragrance.

To be perfectly honest, I couldn't really see much difference compared to normal wet wipes but they are soft and Pierre said that they didn't sting at all, which some wet wipes do. They are designed to clean up snotty noses but also moisturise the skin, helping relieve soreness. Bearing in mind these are designed for child-sized noses, I did think they were too big though - I'd prefer perforated wipes that you can rip in half or just half-sized wipes (for the same price, obviously !).

star rating : 4/5

Boogie Wipes is currently available in the UK at www.boogiewipes.ie from £1.20.
