You may remember that back before Christmas, I reviewed some Blackhead Killer Face Masks from Style Lux. This month, they sent me through another beauty product from their range to try out - Quickmax Eyelash Growth Enhancer.
I have to admit, I wasn't overly impressed when I first opened the box. The product is smaller than the box would suggest - in fact, there's quite a lot of excess packaging because it doesn't really even need the box at all. It looks like a mascara but when I twisted off the top, I discovered a small wispy brush rather like a child's paint brush, rather than the classic mascara wand that I was expecting.
I applied some to my lashes (like eyeliner rather than mascara) once a day at bedtime and waited to see if anything would happen. It doesn't smell of anything and it doesn't sting at all, much to my surprise. The website description explains that it contains a patented combination of ingredients including a hair-growth enzyme and a natural hair-follicle stimulant that rejuvenate the growth cycle of your lashes or brows and build up the tissue that anchors your lashes, so that the tissue retains the lashes longer and gives them more time to grow.It also includes a high-tech moisturizer called hyaluronic acid so it conditions the skin of your eyelids and eyebrows while it stimulates new growth and repairs dry, brittle or damaged lashes and brows that can be due to ageing or the use of harsh mascara.
Well, I wasn't really that impressed and I couldn't see any difference when I looked in the mirror so I was absolutely stunned when I took the "after" photo and compared it to the original one. There is definitely more volume and thickness after just seven days, which is very impressive. It remains natural-looking, unlike mascara, which is probably why I didn't detect any difference on a day-to-day basis.
Again, according to the website, results vary from person to person. They say : "Everyone’s eyelashes and eyebrows are different. While many women start to see results in just 1 week, all women in the clinical studies experienced noticeable results in just 4 to 6 weeks. Imagine! By next month you could have dramatically longer, thicker, more alluring eyelashes and eyebrows!"
Well, from what I've seen so far, I'm very impressed and I was sceptical to begin with. I'll definitely continue to use it to see if they get even longer and thicker. Even if they don't, I'm still happy with the effect. It's very reassuring to know that the product is actually good for your skin and eyes too, rather than just providing a cosmetic enhancement.
star rating : 4/5
RRP : £24.95
*** Update : Given the large number of people who seem to be having problems with being billed for the product without actually ordering it, I've removed the link to the website - I'll leave the review live though, as it's my objective experience with the product, but please note, I didn't go through the ordering process so I can't comment on that. ***
Disclosure : I received the product in order to write an honest review.

Would definitely like to try this
ReplyDeletewow. this is quite pricey i have to say! when it comes to eyebrows i have more than enough but on eyelash front i am not sitting comfortable. i wonder how do you feel about it now...#BSParty
ReplyDeleteIt is quite expensive but a little goes a long way and it definitely does work for a natural fuller look, so it depends what price you'd put on that ! :)
Deletei know a better eyelash enhancer product and i would like to recommend it to you.
ReplyDeleteCould you also give me the information on the other eyelash enhancer product?
DeleteI would like to know myself what would be a better. I've only used 1 brand and here in the USA can be expensive. Please email me: blondieishere86401@yahoo.com

DeleteChristina left her message a couple of years ago so I doubt if she'll be back to check on replies - you could leave her a message on her google + account to see if she gets back to you from there though
DeleteGo ahead :)
ReplyDeleteHow do u apply to the brows to thicken those arches up? Same way?!! And has anyone had any success with it working on their brows??
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a clear liquid so you would just brush it on the same as on your lashes.
DeleteBig scam. Don't go on their web site
ReplyDeleteHi Sherrylynn, what do you think the scam is? I'm intrigued.
DeleteI totally agree with you Sherrylynn, I have found ALOT of posts on the internet about them being a bunch of scammers and ripping people off..!! I wouldnt use this product for free it stings your eyes - God knows what terrible stuff they put in it.. And for them to send it to you after you press cancel on the order and expect you to pay very expensive return postage they are discusting to send out products and invoices without your agreement to doing so.. BEWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS..!!!!!
DeleteReally ? That's shocking. I can't comment on the order process or customer relations personally because I didn't have any issues (it was sent to me as a review product) but I didn't find it made my eyes sting when I put it on my lashes - I didn't put it in my eyes though !
DeleteBe careful I went on the website as well and they sent me out the product that I didn't even complete ordering I was only having a look at it on the site. I didn't pay the invoice and they sent me out a debt collectors notice a couple of weeks after.
Deletethis is scam how can you support this company and your lashes look the same if you tilt your head down a tad you can see that, Katy Perry mascara is great for our fine lashes.
ReplyDeleteSCAM SCAM SCAM review all the people that got scam from this company
I'm not supporting the company - I've just written an honest review of an item that was sent to me for free. I can't comment on the ordering process because I didn't go through it. I know there are a lot of negative reviews online, which is why it's good to research both sides to make an informed choice :)
DeleteHi cheryl does it say on the package what the hair growth enzyme is? The only ingredient I know of being a nurse and having worked in Ophthalmic is what is in glaucoma drops. One of the side affects of the drops is eyelashes can over grow. They do not recommend the drops used inappropriately as can cause pressure in the eye. So unless the names of ingredients are listed I would be a bit worried about using it and does it say if tested on animals? However I thought your review was very good but I would be reluctant to use it with out a proper list of ingredients and whether been tested on animals :)
ReplyDeleteThis review is from 2 years ago so I'm not sure I still have the packaging to look at ! All I know is what it says on their website :
DeleteClinically proven to be safe!
Among the scientists who developed QuickMax, there is a doctor whose specialty is developing non-prescription skin products that are not only remarkably effective but also completely safe. As a result, QuickMax is made with natural ingredients that are good for your skin. It nourishes your skin and hair follicles while it works. And it’s manufactured in an FDA-approved laboratory.
How QuickMax works
It contains a patented combination of ingredients that actually rejuvenate the growth cycle of your lashes or brows. It also builds up the tissue that anchors your lashes, so the tissue retains the lashes longer and gives them more time to grow.
The ingredients in QuickMax include an advancedhair-growth enzyme, plus a natural hair-follicle stimulant to make the enzyme work faster. This remarkable formula also includes a high-tech moisturizer, called hyaluronic acid. So it conditions the skin of your eyelids and eyebrows while it stimulates new growth.
The unique serum also repairs dry, brittle, or damaged lashes and brows that can be due to aging or the use of harsh mascara.
Nothing very specific unfortunately.
I put my details in and then cancelled and then I got a message stating your order has been processed. I emailed them straight away and received a message stating that the package has been sent, which was impossible. The next day I received a email stating that the it was being packaged and will be sent. Well they could have not sent the package as I stated to them in the first place.
ReplyDeleteIt is a scam I DIDN'T order it but was sent to me it's from China with a return address crossed out that say's from Demark ingredients water L-Arginine Hyalronic Acid which is a wrinkle remover vit. A@D-Aplha-tocophenorl urea.a
ReplyDeleteTOTAL SCAM . Pressed the back button and they still managed to send it to me with an invoice of $94 . Not impressed with this company at all.
ReplyDeleteSame went to order and changed my mind . Gave my email address and home address , they have sent it to me with a invoice to pay within 14 days .
ReplyDeleteIf they send me a prepaid envelope for the return of the product ,they are welcomed to it , as lm not paying for it. I didn't order it .
Same here i just recieved it today ,, i never ordered it i just look at it for some details. How can i avoid to pay this invoice now do i have to send this back but what adress?
ReplyDeleteSame happened to me.. has anyone sent it back? How much did it costt? It's stressing me out I never actually ordered it and I don't want to be owing money to anyone! Feedback on how you delt with the situation!?
ReplyDeleteI got to the end of ordering there was no where to say "are you sure you want to order if so continue) I emailed and asked them to cancel order as no order came I thought no more if it now I've had an invoice for £74.85 and no product! I've emailed again saying I'm not paying as I've asked them to cancel order previously.
ReplyDeleteWow - why so expensive? Was it with shipping charges? Hope you get your money back :-/
DeleteI have been scammed the same as you all. Did you say that u are not paying? I dont want to pay either as i didnt order it! Did you also received the email stating that they will involve their lawyers?
ReplyDeleteI also received quickmax without ever ordering the product. I will not be paying for it and I tried to contact the company to return the product and or figure out why it was even sent to me but of course I have not heard from anyone. So I did receive a couple invoices from the company saying I need to pay or it would go to the credit bureau. As far as I no nothing has been sent to the credit bureau and I have never had any luck contacting the company. I received the package back in March 2016, got a second invoice in June 2016. Since then I have not heard from lux style/lux international at all.
ReplyDeleteso they just sent their product to you, without you ordering it.. sent a couple of invoices.. and then ignored you..?
Deleteyup me too the same like your case... but i went to lodge a police report on this scam
DeleteI have today received an email saying they will instruct lawyers if I don't pay, I have emailed them back telling them that I had asked them to cancel order and that I had not received the order, in fact I'm now wondering whether it was actually sent and that this is a scam to frighten me into paying.
ReplyDeleteBuyers beware.I ordered 2 tubes, which I am still using the first one. No difference with my eyelashes. I will continue to use it & see what happens. What has really maddened me is the fact they sent me another 2 tubes which I did not order. I posted them back at the cost to me of AU$21.45. They refuse to reimburse this cost to me, I have been sending & receiving emails the last week, with the old answer that they do not send prepaid return envelopes!!

ReplyDeleteIf it's a very small consolation, at least you got an answer (of sorts) - they don't seem to be replying to anyone else at all ! :-/
DeleteHey they've sent me 2 tubes so I'm gonna see how they go hopefully they work fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteHey there I received the dept collector notice and I was wondering if it's true that they'll come because I also know it's a scam!
ReplyDeleteHi Vi, if you read through the comments, lots of people get the letter but nobody seems to get anything else so fingers crossed, you'll be OK !
DeleteI also tried the product to no avail. It does not do anything so either the company is scamming (I too got an invoice with a Denmark address crossed out) or they are using a legitimate company's photos/logo etc to scam. I did get emails from one of their "reps....a Jamie Andrews..." who asked me about the product and to review it, I told her it didn't work and she advised to return it under the "satisfaction guarantee". It also cost me AU$22 to post. Add that to the international transaction fee charged in the first place and all I have done is hand over money for nothing! I would have been better just keeping it.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had read these review before trying!
OH........and your trial run that you think worked Cheryl? Nope! The photos show nothing more than natural lash growth. Our lashes fall out and renew themselves every 14 days or so, we just don't take notice of it until we try something like this product. The product probably has chemicals in it that kill the microscopic animals that live at the base of our lashes so that the new ones grow back healthier giving a 'thicker' appearance.
ReplyDeleteewwwww that just made me shudder ! lol - you're probably right though :)

hey Linda. i was wondering if you actually ordered the product that they sent you..? because i didnt order mine, and now they are asking me to pay for the return shipment.
DeleteI actually ordered the product through their website through a link from US, and paid under $60 for 2 tubes + 1 tube free about a couple or more weeks ago and I received my purchase a couple of days ago. It is genuine Quickmax and I don't know which link or website most of the peeps here are referring to

ReplyDeleteso this looks like the best place to start (and hopefully finish !) to get the issue resolved : https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/odr
ReplyDeleteStimulash fusion is the only one I've found that still works.my lashes are so long I have to check there isn't mascara marks above my eyes before ił leave the house. Canada.
ReplyDeleteHi.. Have you actually got results after using the product?
