Picture book review : The Bunny That Couldn't Be Found - Angela Mitchell

The Bunny That Couldn't Be Found is a fun read from Angela Mitchell, illustrated by Sarah Horne. The atmosphere, and indeed the main character Princess Lolly herself, reminded the Madhouse Mini-testers of The Little Princess cartoon on TV. She may descend from royalty but she's a bit of a brat, albeit a cute and cheeky one !

The hilarity ensues from a basic misunderstanding - the Princess has lost her pet, called Johnny Bunny, and sends all the palace officials out to look for him, failing to point out the vital piece of information that, despite his name, he is in fact a dog.

The palace policemen look all over the place, getting more and more frustrated at the pesky dog that keeps getting under their feet as they look for an errant bunny !

There's a happy end - the Princess is reunited with her doggie - and little readers learn a valuable life lesson on the way about making sure they explain things properly.

The funny storyline and brightly coloured, humorous images really appealed to Pierre and Juliette and this has become a bedtime favourite.
