Cussons Mum and Me Little Explorers review

Cussons have recently launched Little Explorers, a new range for little ones that aims to bring good clean fun to bathtime, so we were really pleased to receive some of the products to try out. As I told you here, Pierre has been going through a phase of not liking bathtime any more, so I was over the moon to see that the new products made him quite enthusiastic about jumping in the tub (although I think a fortnight in the pool in Morocco helped too !).

The first product that we tried out (much to the Mini-testers' delight) was the Funky Fizz Bath Crackles that promise to "pop and bang as they hit the water before changing the colour of the bath water as they completely dissolve". Well, two out of three ain't bad. They do pop and bang a lot (or snap, crackle and pop because they reminded us of loud Rice Krispies when you add the milk!). They also do dissolve totally but they didn't change the colour of the water. There was a puff of colour which was totally diluted by the bath water and left the kids unimpressed. They still loved the popping noise though so the bath crackles got a thumbs up all the same. We did add a quick splash of bubble bath too to add some bubbles.

The Mega Mild Bubbly Bath is lovely. It makes a great amount of bubbles and smells gorgeous and fruity. It also contains Avocado and Jojoba oils so helps keep children's delicate skin soft and moisturised. A big thumbs up all round. The kids even loved the "wobbly bottle" !

The Happy Splashy Hair & Body Wash is also great. The Madhouse Mini-testers used it on a sponge as body wash where it lathered up, felt silky soft on their skin and created absolutely no irritation. It also smells lovely. I used it on Pierre's short hair as shampoo but I don't think it would have been moisturising enough for Juliette's longer hair.

The final product was another one that produced squeals of delight. The Super Soft Squidgy Soap comes out like shaving foam and can be moulded and thrown about in the bath, as well as used to create fab Mohawks ! Pierre also had great fun making soap pants and Juliette had a soap bikini at one point !  It seems to have a moisturising effect on the skin and had the kids washing themselves more thoroughly than I've ever seen them do it before. ("Please Mum, can I have just a little squirt more, I missed a bit on my back, and I haven't done under my arms, and I need a little bit behind my ears ... !")

It's a lovely range that the kids really enjoyed using and that made my bathroom smell lovely. We'll definitely be looking out for these in the supermarket.
