Blingles Glimmer Glam Styler review

Having reviewed the Blingles Bling Studio last year, I immediately knew that the Blingles Glimmer Glam Styler would get a warm (make that red hot !) welcome when it arrived at The Madhouse. Sure enough, both Juliette and Sophie squealed excitedly and both wanted to be picked as Chief Tester of the Day !

Luckily, there was enough in the box for them both to have a good go because with the contents, you can make 60 glittery stickers. That means even little brother Pierre was allowed to make a couple, and he managed quite successfully, with a little help.

The box contains the central unit, which keeps everything in place and minimises mess (more about that in a moment !), as well as the Glimmer pen, Glimmer brush, 4 Glitter colours with Glitter rollers on the lids, 8 Sticker sheets and 10 gems, to add even more bling !

The concept reminded me very much of Sand Art (have a look here if you don't know what that is) - you peel the top layer of the sticker off and use the little rollers on the lids to apply the glitter in the colour of your choice. Use the little brush to remove the excess then start again with the next colour. There is a colour guide, showing you which colour to put where, but you can always ignore that if you so desire !

The photos really don't do it justice but it was the best I could do ! The glitter goes on easily and sticks really well in all the right places without blending so you get a really professional finish. The stickers can be put on pretty much any flat surface. I still have several of the original gemstone Blingles (from last year's review kit) on my laptop and phone case so I'm sure these ones will be just as resistant.

Once you've used up your supplies, you can buy refill kits of glitter and stickers. I think Santa might have to put a few of those in the stockings this year. (Oh my goodness, I can't believe I just said that - am I really starting to think about Christmas already ?!)

The only very slight downside is, you will inevitably get glitter everywhere, despite the well-designed workstation. I put down a playmat and shook it outside (so we have a lovely sparkly pavement outside the house now !) so the dining room table/floor survived unscathed but we all still ended up with bits of it in our hair and on our face - that stuff always gets everywhere !
